Returning


It has been one year since I've worked on my little rocket game and it now officially has a name: Rocket Rescue. I'm days away from finishing the Complete C# Unity Game Developer 3D course from GameDev.tv. I cannot overstate how good this course is. When I finish I will return to Rocket Rescue with an arsenal of new skills and techniques. 

My task now is to define the scope of the game before I continue work. This is a painful process as I discard features that I would love to implement but know aren't truly part of the core gameplay and would only slow development. As Stephen King once said, "Kill your darlings, kill your darlings, even when it breaks your egocentric little scribbler’s heart, kill your darlings." No matter how much you like an idea, you have to recognize when it just isn't right for your story/game/project.

So I'm back, working on my dream, making my game. Here we go.
